Best of Anglesey Shop opens

Menter Môn , as part of its continuing commitment to the promotion of locally-sourced Anglesey foods and food products, will open a new retail outlet at the Holland Arms Garden Centre at 11.30am on Friday 2 July.

The opening ceremony will be performed by Councillor Goronwy Parry, Leader of the County Council. The shop is designed to provide additional outlets for the increasing number and variety of foods produced on Anglesey, and to provide a focus for the image of Môn Mam Cymru .

The project has been possible because of the co-operation of the proprietors of the Holland Arms Garden Centre and funding provided by the EU, Isle of Anglesey County Council and the WDA through the LEADER II programme. A total of 22 suppliers will provide food products for the shop in the initial phase. Three jobs have been created in establishing this new concept.

The shop will be operated by Nicomôn Cyf, the trading company established by Menter Môn in order to create employment and economic development opportunities in the marketplace. This is seen as an increasingly important means of developing the local economy.

Y Cynghorydd Goronwy Parry, Arweinydd y Cyngor Sir, bydd yn perfformio y seremoni agoriadol. Nod y siop yw darparu rhagor o fannau gwerthu ar gyfer y nifer ac amrywiaeth gynyddol o fwydydd cynhyrchir ar Ynys Môn, ac hefyd darparu ffocws ar gyfer delwedd Môn Mam Cymru .

Mae'r prosiect wedi bod yn bosibl drwy gydweithrediad perchnogion Canolfan Arddio Holland Arms a cymorth ariannol gan yr UE, Cyngor Sir Ynys Môn, a'r Bwrdd Datblygu Cymru trwy'r rhaglen LEADER II . Bydd cyfanswm o 22 o gyflenwyr yn darparu cynnyrch bwyd ar gyfer y siop yn ystod y cyfnod cychwynnol. Creuwyd tair swydd wrth sefydlu'r cysyniad hwn.
