Menter Môn
means
Anglesey Enterprise
in Welsh, and the organisation was established in 1995 as a self-standing company.
Menter Môn is one of 800 LEADER II groups throughout Europe (8 of which are in Wales). The LEADER II programme is aimed at community-level economic development in rural areas. It does this by supporting grass-roots projects which can be expected to have a favourable impact on the local rural economy. Since 1995, Menter Môn has succeeded in attracting over £2.8m of local, regional and European funds into Anglesey's rural economy. A central feature of all its projects is consultation with local communities throughout the island, and forging business partnerships within the SME sector. |
