What is Cegin Môn?
A commercial kitchen facility for small and starter businesses on Anglesey

Background
Menter Môn, with the assistance of CWYSI have been working with a number of rurally based micro-businesses to establish their needs for future development, identifying barriers which currently restrict growth and considering ways in which barriers can be overcome.
The main group of businesses involved in the food production range from specialist ‘occasion’ cake makers to those interested in supplying wholefood products, preserves and even meat products of various kinds. Many, though not all of these are members of farming families on the island who are seeking to diversify the farm income and on occasion add-value to a raw material grown on the farm.

Perceived Barriers to Development
Existing group members have already established themselves to a greater or lesser degree in micro businesses. While many feel that they would be able to expand their businesses they lack confidence to invest in a fully fitted commercial facility which would require significant investment and would also take a significant amount of space within their homes.

Solution
Establishment of a fully fitted commercial kitchen complying with all food hygiene requirements. All the capital costs have been covered by Menter Môn and partners who include: European Community, Welsh Development Agency and Isle of Anglesey County Council.

  Beth yw Cegin Môn
Cegin fasnachol I fusnesau bach a newydd ar Ynys Môn

Cefndir
Mae Menter Môn gyda chymorth CWYSI wedi bod yn gweithio efo nifer o fusnesau bach gwledig ar yr Ynys I adnabod eu anghenion, er mwyn galluogi datblygiad yn y dyfodol, datgelu rhwystrau, sydd ar hyn o bryd yn arbed tyfiant, a meddwl am ffyrdd I ddod dros y rhwystrau.
Y brif grwp o fusnesau sy’n ymwneud â chynhyrchu bwyd yn amryw o wneud teisennau achlysuron arbennig I wneud bwyd-cyflawn, jam a hyd yn oed prosessu cig. Mae amryw o’r aelodau yn dod o deuluoedd amaethyddol ar yr Ynys sydd yn edrych I arall-gyfeirio incwm y ffarm ac mewn rhai achosion ychwanegu gwerth I ddefnydd crai sydd yn cael eu tyfu ar y ffarm.

Rhwystrau Tebygol I Ddatblygiad
Mae’r aelodau wedi sefydlu eu hunain I ryw raddau erbyn hyn yn eu busnesau bach. Mae amryw yn teimlo y gallent dyfu ymhellach ond mae diffyg hyder I fuddsoddi arian mewn sefydlu cegin fasnachol, ac nid oes digon o le yn eu tai.

Yr Ateb
Sefydlu cegin fasnachol sydd wedi ei ddarparu’n llawn, I fyny at ofynion safonau glendid. Menter Môn a pharteneriaid yn edrych ar ôl y costau.
