Tafarn y Rhos' location in the middle of the Island makes it an extremely popular meeting place for the locals. There is always a warm welcome and good food available throughout the day. There is a no-smoking room available as well as facilities to hold meetings, seminars and parties. Local musicians frequently entertain the guests and they attract people from far and away.

Bara Brith Autumn Pudding
1½ lb. Mixed autumn fruit such as apples, blackberries,raspberries, plums
1oz. Light, soft, brown sugar
1 Bara Brith,(crust removed & thinly sliced)
Fresh fruit and mint sprigs to decorate

Gently stew fruit with 4-6 tbspn. water and sugar until soft but retaining shape. Cut a round from a slice of Bara Brith to fit neatly into a 2pt. pudding basin and cut 6-8 slices into fingers to put around sides of basin, overlapping to avoid spaces. When the fruit is cooked, pour into basin, careful not to disturb the lining. Reserve 3 tbsp. juice. When full, make lid from remaining Bara Brith.Cover with foil, place plate fitting just inside basin on top and weigh down. Leave until cold, then place in fridge overnight.
To serve, run knife carefully around edge to loosen, invert pudding onto serving dish. Pour over reserved juice, serve with cream, decorated with fruit and mint sprigs.
