How do we begin to describe Llwydiarth Fawr? It's not a typical farmhouse, even though it is part of an 850 acre farm. But neither is it a guest house or hotel - at Llwydiarth Fawr you really do stay in someone's home.

You'll gather by now that Llwydiarth Fawr is different . This palatial Georgian house, the home of Margaret and Richard Hughes, combines the best of all worlds - the friendliness and hospitality of farmhouse accommodation with surroundings that match those of a top hotel

Llwydiarth Fawr is a stylish, secluded - and special - place to stay. Guests invariably appreciate its air of spaciousness, its quiet luxury, its superior standards, its antiques, its warmth of welcome, its delicious food...and its unbeatable value for money.
You don't have to take our word for it. Llwydiarth Fawr is one of only a handful of places in Wales to achieve the Welsh Tourist Board's coveted deluxe quality grading. Its also the winner of the Farmhouse Award, and is recommended in many guidebooks, and Margaret has won the BBC 'Farm Wife of the Year' Award.

Downstairs, there's a large beautifully furnished lounge, leading onto a terrace. With its excellent selection of books and magazines, open log fire and wonderful views across the open countryside, its the perfect place in which to relax. There's also a second room for guests, also with a log fire.
The bedrooms, again furnished to the same high standards, are all en suite with colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities - and of course, full central heating.

Mealtimes are a special occasion at Llwydiarth Fawr. Margaret is a talented cook who relies on farm and other fresh local produce to prepare the best 'Taste of Wales' dishes, including freshly cooked roasts and home-made sweets.

Many guests are happy to enjoy Llwydiarth Fawr's relaxing setting, surrounded as it is by hundreds of acres of farmland and woodland. Within the grounds there are nature walks, a lake for private fishing, and birdwatching. Children can play in complete security in these beautiful farmland surroundings.
Llwydiarth Fawr's central location makes it the perfect base from which to explore all of Anglesey. Historic Beaumaris , sandy Treaddur Bay and Rhosneigr, the spectacular South Stack cliffs are all just a short drive away. It's also only a short trip to the Britannia road bridge across the Menai Strait, so Llwydiarth Fawr is an ideal base for visiting the mountains of Snowdonia and the North Wales coast.

Directions : Cross the Menai Straits on the A5 and take the turn off for Llangefni. At Llangefni follow the signs for Oriel M ôn (art gallery) and the B5111 to the village of Llanerchymedd. Turn right in the village square for Amlwch (still on the B5111). Llwydiarth Fawr is ½ mile on the right.
