Dan Do Môn - Issue 12
The Newsletter for voluntary organisations on Anglesey
Objective 1
Anglesey has been given Objective 1 status, which will provide the highest level of financial support for development from the European Unions Structural Funds. The West and Valley areas of Wales have been deemed deprived areas of Europe, and it is hoped that Objective 1 status will help them catch up with the EU average. Details of priorities under Objective 1 have yet to be agreed, however, job creation will underpin the programme. The European Unit of the Isle of Anglesey County Council is seeking local consultation on identifying ways that the local economy can be regenerated. If you require further information or want to be put on the mailing list for Objective 1, contact:
A meeting will be held Wednesday 16 June at Oriel Môn, Llangefni at 7.00pm for the voluntary/community sectors to learn more about this important development, and to consider how they can be part of any procedure.
