A special race to crown Britain's best all-round pair of anglers has bee revealed.
To be staged on the island of Anglesey, off North Wales, the event will test teams of two to the limit at all three disciplines - coarse, sea and game fishing.
Teams will fish from dawn until dusk to chalk up the biggest score, each angler receiving 10 points for different species with extra points for landing the greatest number of specimens.
There will be bonuses for visiting the most fisheries and, with over £3,000 on offer in cash and prizes, the competition, due to run in mid-May, will be fiercely contested.
Roger Thompson, owner of on the island, is giving the event his full backing.
"We have some of the best fishing in the country on Anglesey, with brilliant coarse, game and sea fishing within a few miles of each other. This festival will give anglers the chance to experience them all in one go", he said.
"The only downside is that we haven't got a sponsor yet. But I'm sure that won't be for long because it is a very good opportunity for promotion for any company, as we've got several television stations interested in covering the event."
