 | The project combines management of the natural
environment with the protection of an important
heritage site. Menter Môn purchased this Norman
'Motte and Bailey' castle (built in 1088), with 11
hectares of woodland and pasture.
The objectives are to restore the castle, to create a new public amenity
by creating new paths and walkways, to manage existing riparian habitat
and woodland, to plant a significant area of new woodland, and to
interpret the site. The combination of management for heritage and
the natural environment makes this an especially interesting project
in balancing the requirements of both aspects.
